Richard and Maribeth Green Scholarship

“5,000 feet of road can take you a mile. 5,000 feet of runway can take you anywhere”

The Green Scholarships are open to any youngster 14–17. In February we notify area high school counselors of opportunities and dates of interviews. If accepted, the student will be awarded an introduction to aviation groundschool, and 3 flights in the Piper Cub, with opportunities for further flight training upon completion of the introductory flights.

These scholarships are not based on academic achievement—just an interest in flight.

John Cournoyer Aviation Mechanics Scholarship

John Cournoyer, of Creve Coeur, MO, was my mentor and friend. A consummate craftsman and avid collector, John restored countless historically significant aircraft. This scholarship is open to any student actively enrolled in an A&P or Avionics Curriculum. It’s our hope it will help inspire the next generation to restore and preserve these beautiful old airplanes well into the future.

To hear John Cournoyer speak and see some of his other projects, watch this AOPA video about his work.
